ABOUT
I am a first-generation college student raised by parents who worked seasonal jobs in the skiing and whitewater rafting industries. Being raised between Alta, Utah and Polson, Montana (in the winters and summers, respectively) instilled a deep respect and curiosity for the natural world. Big mountains, clean rivers, and small communities. I feel fortunate to research the Earth system and will keep learning and teaching for the rest of my life.

For fun: mobility training, anything on mountains and rivers, kendama and juggling, reading, and watching movies. I love maps, space exploration and rockets, bushcraft, and experimental bass music. I'm a lifelong fan of the Utah Jazz and Colorado Rockies and, yes, this dimension of my life has been very sad.
"...in the process of the centuries the mountain is levelled and the river will change its course...and the configuration of the stars varies. There is change in the firmament. The mountain and the star are individuals and individuals perish."
-Jorge Luis Borges translated from "La escritura del dios"
