ABOUT
I am a first-generation college student raised in western Montana and Utah by parents who worked seasonal jobs in the rafting and skiing industries. My sister and I spent much of our childhood raising pigs, lambs, and chickens, and I grew up connected to the landscapes and outdoor communities of the interior West. Those experiences shaped my appreciation for its people, places, and natural complexity, and they continue to guide how I approach teaching and researching the Earth system.
For fun I like mobility training, anything mountains and rivers, kendama and juggling, and reading. I love maps, space exploration and rockets, wildlife, and experimental and downtempo bass music. I'm a lifelong fan of the Utah Jazz and Colorado Rockies and, yes, this dimension of my life has been very sad.
